Gusborne Vineyards
IWe planted Gusbourne’s first vines in 2004 with a single-minded vision: to craft the world’s finest sparkling wines. Today – two decades on – we’re still driven by that same ambition.
We work in a way which embraces tradition, but challenges convention. Our focus is always on the detail – the incremental gains – which allow us to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in English wine, one vintage at a time.
The quality of our fruit is essential: we farm, and hand harvest, all our own grapes. This means we have total control over the quality in the vineyard; we only pick when our fruit is perfectly ripe. Around half our vines are Burgundian clones. These yield smaller quantities of ripe, flavourful grapes which are ideal for both still and sparkling wines.
All our wines are vintage-only, which means they’re made using the fruit from a single growing season. Each wine tells a story of a year’s growing condition, capturing a moment in time. We cellar age our wines for as long as they need, releasing them only when they are ready.
Monochrome Sommelier Services practices a ‘NO Conflict of Interests’ Policy.
We pledge not to overturn a trade agreement already in place by any of our partner suppliers or minimise their contribution. Rather we would work with them to develop their Portfolio within the business and source complimentary suppliers from our fantastic Supplier Portfolio to provide other products NOT covered by the original supplier.
